Atrium Cinema/ TIFF in Casa Luxemburg

In Casa Luxemburg, ATRIUM Cinema and TIFF will start a series of events that will bring to Sibiu the Transylvania Film Festival atmosphere. Every week on Tuesday, in Atrium Classic Cafe will be held screenings of films that were screened during the festival. All films will be subtitled in English.
TIFF Movie Night begins October 26th with the screening Fat People (Gordos, Spain 2009), directed by Daniel Sanchez Arevalo. The film was highly praised by critics and received important awards: Raúl Arévalo – Best Actor in the Goya Awards 2010, Jury Prize at the Comedy Film Festival in Monte Carlo 2009 and was nominated for the Bronze Horse Film Festival Stockholm 2009.
The series will continue with the documentary Weddings, music and videos (Romania, 2008), followed by another Romanian documentary Australia (2009) showing us how seven young men, former street children in Romania get to see the Pacific Ocean. Other films signed by Romanian directors are: The Merry Circus (2010) and Born on request (2005).
TIFF Movie Night program will be completed by films from Great Britain (The sons of Cuba, 2009), Switzerland (Life is elsewhere, 2006) and Italy (Lunch on August 15th, 2008). The series will end around Christmas, on December 21st with the screening Navidad / Christmas Day (Chile, 2009).
The purpose of these projections is to promote film culture by presenting some of the most important films of the moment, according to criteria related to the topic originality.
