This year at the open museum night, at the Brukenthal Museum you will be greeted by actors dressed up as the Baron Samuel von Brukenthal and Sophia Katherina von Brukenthal. A special workshop will reveal the secrets of handmade paper, and visitors will be able to print their own paper produced with Baroque decorative patterns. Also on May 19, between 4-12 pm, there will be free entrance at the Brukenthal Palace, the Natural History Museum and the History Museum.

The festival will take place in  Huet Square, just behind Luxembourg House!

Huet Tour Baroque will take visitors on a journey through the history of educational and fun Sibiu. Huet Square’s Grand Tour will start by providing the theoretical framework (conferences and lectures) to reveal the actual fingerprints of the baroque in the artistic and social. Then the public will be invited to taste the Baroque: a Grand Ball in costumes, a Baroque dinner with all exaggerations and all the pomp and gourmet protocol, demonstrations of skill offered by street craft workshops and practice using specific means show video-mapping architecture that will enliven the market, concerts, dramatic performances and dance.

Sibiu Jazz Festival is considered unique in Romania, given the longevity, consistency and sheer number of celebrities taking part.
The 42nd edition, entitled “From Baroque to Jazz and back” provides 8 days of concerts and performances in conventional and unconventional spaces, the common theme being jazz music and its interference with this particular genre- baroque music and unique its unique tones.
Renowned musicians will present original projects,  dedicated to composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, Antonio Vivaldi, Henry Purcell, George Frideric Handel, Georg Philipp Telemann, etc..

Easter traditions: egg decoration, choral concerts, eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny and creative workshops for children …all at the Easter Fair held in the Large Square (Piata Mare) at the beginning of April.

Old Saxon architecture in the center of Sibiu? Yes!

On this tour we can see the architectural transformation on different stages but also walls that no longer exist. The three central squares reveal buildings that have been modified during Sibiu’s Baroque period.

We discover the influence of the Baroque period but also symbols built in that same time: the roof of the Council Tower or even the Liars’ Bridge.
